The Talents Of A Strolling Magician Orlando

By Betty Wood

When it comes to magic shows, it's not all about festivals, street artists or Las Vegas. For, these individuals can perform as a strolling magician Orlando, provide magic shows for children or perform in world renown shows in Las Vegas and around the world. Magic has become more popular over the last few years after Matt Franco was the first magician to win the popular reality show America's God Talent.

Children of all ages have been astounded my magic at birthday parties, festivals and other events. Whereas, in the 70s to 90s, it seemed street artists and magicians could be found in entertainment districts such as 6th Street in Austin, The French Quarter in New Orleans and at the daily Sunset festival in Key West performing for tourists.

While Austin has recently allowed busking without permits, there were a number of performers and vendors in the 1990s whom received tickets for performing or vending without a license. In that case, the individuals included fire dancers, food vendors, flower girls, jewelry makers, jugglers, musicians, painters, rose sellers and muralists. While the fines were between $50 and $200, most of these individuals rarely made enough to cover the cost of housing, if not homeless.

While Key West, Orlando, New Orleans, New York and other cities still boast some vibrant entertainment districts, a number of individuals attempt to perform on a regular basis in other areas. For example, some street performers in Boston perform at the same time in different city squares each and every day. Whereas, there are others whom prefer to move around and perform in different areas.

Still, there are some magicians whom are willing to do whatever it takes to entertain visitors in these areas. With Orlando having a number of other entertainment options, there are often people strolling the entertainment district day and night. As such, magicians working in this area can often acquire more tips than others by performing on a daily basis in different areas of the city. Whether in the Orlando entertainment district, at Universal Studios Street Walk or a local venue, the area has a lot to offer when it comes to magic.

For individuals whom love magic and can not make it to a public or private performance, there are a number of magicians whom now host videos on YouTube. For example, there are videos by Matt Franco, Jeff McBride, Chris Angel and other well known magicians. Whether wanting to watch for fun, or to learn, YouTube and other video sharing sites have a lot to offer.

Older teens and young adults wanting to learn the art of magic may want to check out the free Monday classes offered by Jeff on the McBride Magic dot com website. For, a series of free classes are offered on a number of topics each Monday with additional classes available at a nominal cost. In some cases, there may be other magicians or mentors hosting a class but the information is always informative, unique and useful to those desiring to learn or even well seasoned magicians whom just want to learn new and different aspects of magic.

Magic is at the center of all events offered at the school, seminars and workshops presented by Jeff, wife and assistant Abigail, mentors and associate magicians. During the year, there are several classes offered for beginning to advanced magicians. In most cases, these events are located either at the Magic and Mystery School in Los Angeles or at the convention center or local venues in Las Vegas.
