Medical Miracle Stories That Defy Modern Medicine

By Marissa Velazquez

There are so many cases of fatal accidents that happen to ordinary people wherein they would still survive even though it may seem impossible. A lot of medical miracle stories would sound unbelievable because medical science dictates it to be. However, there are so many cases that would actually prove to normal humans that miracles are still definitely possible.

One of the earliest of these records would actually date back to the 1840s where the foreman of a railroad construction team named Phineas Gage had a rod stuck in his cheek. While they were working on the railroad, a small explosion forced the rod in his face. Miraculously, doctors saved him and he survived but frequently suffered from seizures after.

One of those death defying stories would be the one of Supratim Dutta who had a big iron bar driven into his stomach when he was involved in a car accident. It was a good thing that the bar missed all of his vital organs because it is because of this that he survived. The doctors were able to same him and he fully recovered.

There was also this one incident wherein a man was brain dead for around six years and was a complete vegetable at that time. What the doctors did at that time was they inserted some electrodes in the brain which immediately woke him up. The only catch here is that the electrodes have to be turned off during the night as he would not be able to sleep if they were still activated.

Josh Villa also had a similar case but he was brain dead for a shorter period of time which was about three years. The treatment used on him utilized a magnetic force that was supposed to pull parts of the brain in order to shock it awake. Although this treatment was able to wake Villa up, Villa could not move his body like he used to but he could communicate properly like through verbal communication.

Now Nicholas Holderman was a kid who was playing one day and fell down face first into a set of keys. What made matters bad here is that one of the keys actually went into his eye and he was brought to the emergency room. Of course he was already supposed to be blind by the accident but by some divine miracle, he did not become blind and was even discharged from the hospital quite early as he had a speedy recovery.

Michael Hill probably has one of the most unbelievable cases as he survived a stab to his own head. However, even after he was stabbed, he did not die but instead he walked to another house and was of course rushed to the hospital. He recovered from the injury but his memory became more dull and he often suffered from seizure attacks.

These are only some of the many medical miracle stories that exist in this world. Although a lot of them would seem too fantastic to even be real, they have actually happened. This can actually show that there are times when miracles do happen.
