The Six Best Television Shows Of 2013

By Kathy Judy

You've probably noticed that 2013 has given us some awesome television shows. We've looked over the most popular shows to get you the top six that you should be watching, if you are not already. To start us off, we have Game of Thrones. George R. R. Martin's mega saga has been brought to the small screen and folks can't get enough of this mixture of religion, war and sex - all delivered in a medieval setting.

Up next is Breaking Bad. This show follows Walter White, a chemistry teacher, who falls prey to cancer, and needs to resort to drug dealing to cover his therapy. Together with his super pure meth and his underworld ex-student, Jesse Pinkman, they rise up the drug food chain in his quiet Texas town.

You've also probably heard people raving about Dexter. The show is about an LA cop who murders serial killers. This morally ambiguous show gets great ratings each week.

Pretty Little Liars also remains one of the top TV shows of this year. It's based on a series of stories by Sara Shepard and it follows the lives of teenagers who fall out after the disappearance of one of their own. Someone is threatening to spill their secrets yet they can't seem to find out who it is.

For an elegant and fashionable show, it's hard to go wrong with Mad Men. Follow Peggy Olsen as she tries her best to shatter the glass ceiling in 1960s corporate America.

You can't mention 2013 television shows without talking about Parks and Recreation. Meet Leslie Knope, the Assistant Director of the Pawnee Parks and Recreation Team. Her boss hates his job and hates government and her fellow workers are just as apathetic. She needs to try and do whatever she can to help keep the department active, and her overzealousness is often comical.

For those who havemissed 2013 TV, watch these shows and you'll be all caught up.
